Health and wellness workshops were commonplace in the organization. The email communication they received clearly informed them that two of the city’s most respected pediatricians were going to take the workshop. They knew voting meters were used in Kaun Banega Crorepati, a hugely popular television quiz show. But they were unsure about the use of voting meters in a serious workshop on Child Health.

The look of amusement on their faces and hushed murmurs created an air of anticipation in the room. As the workshop began, we explained the context in which the participants were required to use the voting meter. The doctors displayed a slide about a pertinent child health situation faced by parents in daily life. Each question had 4 responses andthe participants were asked to choose the most appropriate response. Our hunch was if wecould break commonly held beliefs in an innovative and fun way, the subsequent messages would be easily accepted.

Our hunch was proven beyond doubt when many participants came up to us after the workshop and said this was one of the most engaging and educative workshops they had attended in a long time.
